The Ft. Smith Neuroscience Center has greatly expanded its Pain Management division. We have partnered with the Executive Park Surgery Center here in Fort Smith. All of our interventional pain procedures are performed locally at Executive Park. These procedures include vertebroplasty, kyphoplasty, epidural steroid injections, transforaminal injections, facet injections, rhizotomies, SI joint injections, and spinal cord stimulator trials. This allows us to treat a broad range of pain syndromes, including osteoporotic compression fractures, acute and chronic neck and back pain, cervical and lumbar radiculopathy (ie "pinched nerves"), sciatica, arthritic conditions involving the spine, and failed back syndrome. The Ft. Smith Neuroscience Center also offers a broad range of orthotic solutions for spinal conditions. We have a certified orthotist on-site, experienced in providing multiple bracing options for neck and back pain, spinal fractures, and spinal deformity.
The Ft. Smith Neuroscience Center is also experienced in treating Trigeminal Neuralgia. Trigeminal Neuralgia is a pain syndrome characterized by periodoc episodes of brief, shock-like pain that radiates along the distribution of the trigeminal nerve into the face. Trigeminal Neuralgia pain episodes are often triggered by innocuous stimuli, such as touching one's face, brushing one's teeth, or even experiencing a cold breeze on one's face. Fortunately, many cases of Trigeminal Neuralgia respond favorably to medical management under the care of a Neurologist. However, for cases that are refractory to medical management, the Ft. Smith Neuroscience Center offers neurosurgical solutions, including suboccipital craniotomy for microvascular decompression of the trigeminal nerve. Please inquire about our concierge services for pain management as well.
